A Perfect Proposal!

This maternity shoot came with a sweet surprise…

Last year, we had the privilege of being able to photograph our first proposal right here in our Lincoln Park, New Jersey studio! Jen and Xavier came in for their maternity shoot and little did we know that something extra special was going to happen that day. There is a lot of planning that goes into a shoot so that we are fully prepared when it comes to the actual day. But none of us we’re prepared for this BIG surprise!

While Jen was getting into glam for the day, Xavier stepped out since he wasn’t needed yet for his part of the shoot with the two of them together. Everything was going smoothly with all of the photos and thr looks that we planned. Jen was such a natural for her photos and didn’t even know it!

When Xavier returned, she was in the bathroom changing for her next look. That’s when he filled us in on his plan that he had all along. When he told us that he was about to pop the question, our mouths just dropped and we wanted to scream! But we had to contain our excitement as we didn’t want to give anything away! Everything was already going perfect to plan and the looks were all coming together.

The moment we’ve been waiting for….

When it came to the final look of the session, we knew it was time to start recording as the photos were being taken of this unforgettable moment. Jen was asked to pose facing the light with her eyes closed. Once she was asked to open her eyes and turn around to face Xavier, he was already on one knee and her face was priceless! It brought us to tears to witness this, and it was just beautiful!
This was the first proposal to ever happen during a session (but not the last) and we are so honored to have been a part of it all! We love their love story and being able to meet their son soon after for his newborn photo shoot, made it all even more memorable for us!
